Medfags, can someone explain why I dream about having tonic-clonic epileptic seizures despite not actually suffering from them in my waking hours? I've been having these dreams for years now without any actual weirdness on my part in real life. I just wake up and go back to sleep without any postictal confusion or anything reminiscent of that. My mother is an insomniac so she's often awake at night so I always ask her whether anything was wrong and she always says no, and that I slept soundly. I've had similar experiences on a handful of occasions, all since reaching adulthood- I'll be having a dream turning into a nightmare where something horrific happens to my body accompanied by a full-body sensation of nerve pain that felt quite real in the dream- on one occasion my dream ended up with me having black fungus-like growths (sorta like that tree man disease) growing out of my skin especially on my face and head and my hair was falling out, in another my body was burning and curling into a crisp like burning paper- and I wake up in bed with my back arched and all my muscles tensed up painfully and my eyes forcefully rolled back and arms in the pugalistic position- but then as soon as I noticed what was going on I could relax voluntarily with enough force of will, all this over within a second or so of waking up. I grew up having night terrors until my early/mid teens and still have frequent terrible nightmares now (to the extent my sleep schedule has been fucked my whole life from being too anxious to go to sleep until like 3-5 AM over what I might experience) so I can talk myself down from how frightening whatever it was I've just experienced pretty quickly. My dad has semi-frequent episodes of sleep paralysis with all the awful classic descriptions it entails, and I've had that a couple of times too, distinct from these experiences, but wouldn't be surprised if they're related as I doubt it's a true epilepsy whatever it is given my ability to end it simply by force of will within moments of waking up. Have one cousin who has epilepsy (don't know what kind, rarely seen them) but on my mum's side, not my dad's, and nobody else in either side with any epilepsy-type symptoms at any point in their life. Human bodies are weird.

i was gonna get my first choice uni for medicine which is top 100, but due to mass grade inflation due to the government trying a different system because of the pandemic, i got fucked over and now might have to settle for my 2nd/3rd choice.

Look I'm not an expert on contraception nor do I know the clínical history of your gf. Oral contraceptives are reliable up to a 95% as long as she takes them daily and doesn't miss a single dose.
You should avoid them if gf is 40+, has hypertension, coagulation problems or migraine.

Listen buddy, once someone comes after your medicine union that limits the amount of doctors that can be trained every year, your salary and prestige will plummet. Large parts of your work will also become automated and replaced by nursing specialists.
