Also, some traces of autism can be advantageous but too much will ruin you.

Autism doesn't exist. Iron poisoning is used to make people retarded on purpose; (it's a heavy metal after all) the daily loss is some 1mg, the recommended intake is 11mg, 25 mg for pregnant women. The dietary recommendations for pregnant women virtually guarrantee the baby is born retarded. Those who happen to avoid the damage are called "autistic".

Over-socialization is a problem. You become too reliant on others. It is important to dedicate time to critical thought so that you don't get deceived by others.

It's not coping to point out that autistic people, even the more severe ones, often show superior performance on tasks mainly related to mental ability and intelligence, even if their overall performance is considered poor.
The same holds true for those with ADHD.

Here's some basic info I found by Googling.
>people with autism are more likely to have chronic sleep problems
>estimated 11%-40% of autistic children + teens have anxiety disorders
>estimated 7% of autistic children and 26% of autistic adults are diagnosed with depression
>a third of autistic people have epilepsy
>schizophrenia affects 4-35% adults with autism
>almost half of 25-year old autists have never had a job

People with autism also have difficulties developing motor skills, language skills and social skills (duh). I wouldn't call it a good trade-off for a better IQ score.

If you have autism, your chances of being intellectually disabled are far higher than if you don't.

I should have specified that the severely autistic often show superior performance on tasks related to spatial ability, pattern recognition etc. Of course, non-verbal autistics will nearly always fail conventional IQ-tests which rely on verbal ability, thus warranting them a diagnosis of mental disability.
>>12062755
Huge margins, you've got there. Additionally, I consider autismspeaks not a reliable source.

>I wouldn't call it a good trade-off for a better IQ score.
I point to my comment. >>12062392
Also I'm not OP. I never claimed that autism is an advantage. From my point of view, autism is a diagnosis that has lost all meaning. It covers an absurdly big range. It does not distinguish between idiopathic and secondary autism.
It either ignores comorbidities like epilepsy, executive dysfunction etc. or equates them with autism. It's either hyposensitivity or hypersensitivity. It's too little empathy or too much empathy. It's mental retardation or giftedness.

Oh, I just assumed they were a trustworthy source of information. Shouldn't have done that. My apologies. I was wondering why the margins were so large.

No they are not. They basically said they want to exterminate autistic people.

What other scientist other than Nash was schizo? Everyone else from Newton to guess, Riemann, Einstein exhibited autistic traits.

Not a scientist but Brian Wilson is a schizo and he singlehandedly pushed popular music into the realm of high art alongside opera and ballet.
