Yes
Let's just use all this fuel, to make a space ship fly in the opposite direction of earths orbit, requiring about 29951.68 metres per second of delta V, so that it can fall into the sun.
That'll only cost us tens of millions of dollars per tonne of trash.
I assume you'll be paying for that out of pocket, OP?

why don't we just go back into the woods and abandon the garbage technology created by science, which gave us plastic, junk food, and nuclear weapons, and is solely responsible for destroying our world?

The small pleasures broght by technology is overshadowed by the massive amounts of suffering it has caused. The people who are able to enjoy the fruits of modern society only make up the top 14% richest people in the world, the rest live in miserable conditions prepetuated by industrial society. Not to mention the environmental consequences of technology, which I'm sure you are aware are quite dire, and will unquestionably make life a living hell for billions of people. Technology is an additiction, while it feels good in the moment, it's consequences will be the undoing of our species if we do not tread with caution.

srsly tho, why can't we create an army of satellites that orbit the sun to harvest energy from it, and have their trajectory approach the earth, at which point we can transfer the energy to the earth, which will be brought down by a giant space elevator? Too sci fi?

>> No.11981821

>>11981782
Not too sci fi, but there are limitations. The space elevator would likely be constructed from carbon nanotubes and they have a life expectancy. If the cable breaks, then a bunch of CNTs will aerosolize in the atmosphere. When they break like that, as nanoscale threads, they can have an effect on your lungs like what we know Asbestos does. Another concern is terrorism. With the CNT ability to aerosolize, a terror attack could be horrible for the health of the world due to atmospheric conditions. There also may be interactions with weather phenomena that lower the life expectancy of the CNTs. Lastly (there are more reasons but these are the most relevant), the longest CNTs available commercially are in those nano-toothbrush things (when i learned abo. NMs I never saw one but recently i’ve been seeing facebook and instagram ads for nano bristle toothbrush). Anyways, that’s like 1 cm long so we gotta come up with a way to make something long enough to reach the space station.

>food is obtained from mass production

>greater freedom of speech (yes nigga, i'd rather cry over getting my post removed for a stupid reason than getting the bullet for going against the state)
>greater individualism (back then it was the same old "be born, work, get unloving wife just for kids, work, die", now more people have opportunity to do other things).
>whole lot of other daily shit made easier from technology (how you're able to read my post)
As for the enviroment, that is unfortunately true. For the rest; if it bothers you so much then go live in some sub-Saharan village. I'm sure you'll obtain the much needed happiness from working in a field 24/7.
