My first semester as a math major ended terribly. I got a C+ in my intro to proofs class and my overall Math GPA is a 3.31
Should I just kms?

yes

PhD's are the next printer.

Then why do employers in finance ask for math Phds?

Oh fuck off. You're in your fucking 1st year and thinking about a PhD?
Jesus H Christ, I hate freshmen.

first year as a math major
Not necessarily a freshman

study financial math.
is more useful and adaptable than cucking yourself to death with a math degree.

tired of this meme that only applies to first worlders

Absolutely not.

My first test in college was an ODE test and I got a D, mostly because I didn’t know how to study. I turned out fine.

Proofs are fucking hard but don’t be upset if it takes awhile. Keep at it.

You should switch out of your major analysis and algebra are significantly harder than anything you’ve done before

you’re fucking retarded

>C+
>Implying that's bad
You're doing fine numale stop whining

>> No.11238890

>>11238886
Its really bad. You don't want to have any grades below a B in core courses for your major, and ideally nothing below an A. Its alright to get a C+ in a math course if you aren't explicitly trying to go to graduate school for math, but if you are it looks very bad. Just thinking logically, if you can't hack it in a basic proofs course imagine how hard later courses will be when every one of your peers in the class is a math major, the professors will be even harder on you since they expect you all to be competent and preparing to do research.

Really? Hmmmm nvm then
>>11238471
OP just retake the course then if your end game is grad school. Just buckle down and really practice your proofs. I retract my first comment.

what can you do with a math degree again?

Financial engineering is a masters program that I'd need to apply for. So, I'm still fucked.

it sounds like you're still in your undergrad.

if you're doing math undergrad you're either going to be flipping burgers or getting your PhD, fucking retard.

don't pursue math

proofs are easy, and so are ODEs. you two are just both retards.

not necessarily.
you only need to learn how to manage money properly and then get out there to search for shit that gives you money.
buy small houses and rent them for a reasonable price to responsible people or reliable people.
then enjoy passive income and live your life without financial troubles, like me.
you could start by buying something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-j-ftJdvfXA and then rent it at a reasonable price.
military guys will appreciate you if you do.
