Just skimmed through but it looks like something raining through the atmosphere, HE particles or cosmic debris. Seems to be creating plasma discharges, possibly friction from high angle of attack debris. My best guess anyways.

This looks like a plane or someone pointing a laser christmas decoration at a cloud. This reminds me of one time that there were strange lights in the sky all in a line formation and my neighbour were freaking out thinking they were UFOs. Turns out it was only people two blocks away that were launching flying chinese lanterns.
