Is it healthy?
How much per day is too much?
Whats the best way to use it?
Actually ive been trying to cold turkey it a week ago and I experienced some side effects and relapsed today and had a cup of coffee which made me feel good again.

Adding "what is the scientific opinion about" doesn't make it science related, brainlet.

In essence this is about chemistric, biological and pharmaceutical effect of caffeine und humans. How is this not /sci/ related?

Because you can make any off topic shit science related by adding "what's the scientific consensus on" in front of it.

>> No.11084638

It is /sci/ence related. The current scientific consensus seems to be that it's likely mostly healthy for you in moderation but there are some drawbacks and people generally don't recommend starting it.
I'd suggest intermittent use of moderate amounts maybe.

You shouldn't use coffee daily, only use it when you really need a boost or it will have very little affect.

Caffine makes you feel less tired by binding to the adenosine recepter, meaning adenosine can't bind to it, which prevents you from feeling tired. However if you drink a lot of coffee, these receptors become more sensitive in order to compensate. This means that you need to keep drinking coffee in order to stop yourself from feeling tired. At this point the coffee is not really giving you a boost, it's just keeping you at base level.

caffeinated coffee raises testosterone (3-5 cups) and it has loads of anti-oxidants.

The only reasons not to drown in coffee are its acidity (fucks up your stomach lining) and elevated cortisol. Try drinking yerba mate for a more gentle type of caffeine, it's also less acidic to slightly alkaline.
