What is scientifically the best kind of music for studying?

None, it just distracts you.

drum and bass probably

This, I either concentrate on the music and get distracted or I focus on what I'm working on and don't even hear the music, so what's the purpose ?

ideally silence. But if you are in a noisey and distracting envronment, some kind of white noise (i like rain) that is load enough to block out the other distracting noises like people talking or moving around you.

Whatever music you like as long as it doesn't distract you. People are different, so don't listen to the retards here telling you to do what works for them.

classical stuff (Chopin, Mozart, etc)
probably disapproved by now, but was a popular 'meme' in the 90s for pregnant women to listen to classical stuff. either way an experiment proved plants from better with classical music vs other kinds.
be sure to play it quiet enough not to distract tho.

Rainymood is nice.

Don’t listen to music more than a few times a week; avoid music or any noises louder than the ambient noise in your bedroom at night while studying.

Something non-complex without lyrics that puts you in a positive mood. Those lo-fi mixes for studying are actually pretty good.

Ambient dub techno is the only genre I can study to. Doing math while listening to it is amazing. Spotify has a good playlist called Lost in Space.

Classical is way too distracting for me. When I start listening to some beautiful piece I'll just space out and bathe in the music.

Powerviolence/grind is good but not for studying. More like for drinking and getting high with friends or something. I used to do that a lot actually. Too bad my current roommate only listens to chillwave and EDM so he gets mad if I play metal/classical/jazz/punk, etc. and even ambient/industrial for some reason. Always say it has no melody. Actually came out in the living room and started yelling at me the other day for listening to Throbbing Gristle DoA. Anyway, sorry that turned into a blog post.

None, music is something you focus on and enjoy by itself. It’s not a tool.

Chopin for reading. Bach for memorizing shit. I need silence for math but I'm a puss. Some fucks can have conversations and do math but not me.
