what if classes didnt require prerequisite classes?

You’d walk in having no clue what the professor was on about, they do the prerequisites so they don’t have spent half the course catching everyone up on basic concepts.

More people would fail those classes.

What if you weren't retarded and just talked to an academic advisor or the class professor to see what it would take to waive the prerequisites?

So many things are possible if you ask.

Both of these, not the same but both correct.

I learned that I had to take a prereq, just to take the actual prereq for my required course.

Needless to say I spoke to an advisor and worked out a deal with placement testing.

So long story short you can skip ahead, but don't

I jumped from Intermediate algebra to Calculus 1 w/ Analytic Geometry and I'm considering killing myself. Not because the course is hard, but because I honestly thought I was intelligent. My world view is now shaken and I am in distress.

Guess I should've taken college algebra, trig, and pre-calc but hey fuck me right?

They should still have a minimum score on an entrance exam, then.
