How come /sci/ that I only hear of basic Algebra, some basic trigonometry here, some Calculus 1 there but never of any more advanced subjects like differential geometry and topology, group and field theory, number theory etc. Any 20+ maths student should be well acquainted with such topics or is /sci/ middle-school area?

Because the bulk of /sci/ questions are homework questions from various fields.
There's a few higher math talks in /mg/ but of course it's a leap of faith anytime you write because you barely get replies and surely hardly any good answer - if you want answers, StackExchange is a better place, just with no memes or porn.
