How are you optimizing your cognitive function on day to day basis?

What is your go-to routine when you need to work on a cognitively demand project?

Me:
>sleep 8-9 hours every day
>exercise daily
>read daily

>work on cognitively demanding tasks first thing in the morning
>1 cup of coffee max
>don't eat anything due to brain fog digestion causes
>go on walks to regenerate mentally

Anything else I should add?

You don't eat anything at all during working hours? Or all day?

Only when working on tasks that require a lot of thinking/creativity. I do these in the morning for 2 hours max. After that I'll eat a light meal - however that means that for 1,5 hours I won't be able to operate at my highest cognitive level.

if I want to do a cognitively demanding task I stop taking my pills until the task is done, which may be a few hours to a month.

>sleep for 8-12 hours, full nights rest plus one nap an hour or 2 after waking up, a healthy recommended 4 hours of sleep max if I stop my meds
>dont eat because not hungry due to excess dopamine from plethora of mental illnesses
>drink one to 2 a day vitamin meal replacement drinks
>dont exercise because it takes up my precious energy and time that could be spent working on task
>if I get stuck take my once a week shower

most of my day is spent getting ready to do a task and then staying up all night working on it
my IQ isn't that high though, only 119.

Dude I totally get you on the sleep well, exercise, avoiding fatty foods that make you want to fall asleep, etc.

But for the love of God, DO NOT
I repeat, DO NOT
DO NOT
Do Not start your day with brain intensive activities. Real talk, you're brain has a limited amount of decisions it can make each day. Some people have better brains than others and can make more decisions. Some days might even be better than others for each individual. But either way complex decisions take more of this limited resource than simple ones.
Remember how Steve Jobs wore the same shit everyday? One less decision to make.

Some healthy reading with A cup of coffee to wake up sounds great, but don't start your day with an IQ test.
I can see this as a mental exercise on off days, but don't do it on important days.

>anything else to add?
Start your showers hot and switch them cold. Gets the blood flowing in all the right places.

Better than it sounds.
I always follow the philosophy we're just cavemen in fancy clothes.
Eating makes us fulfilled, satisfied, and at rest. Being a bit hungry puts us in critical thinking mode to try and solve problems. Being starving is too much and is closer to a distracting fight or flight mode.
Find your balance anon.

Basically all academia falls into that tho. Memorize this fact or these steps and apply it to the test. These decision resources are probably also consumed in learning.
That and some people cannot be bothered with multi step solutions. Some people can't read two books at once. I wonder what that's like hopping from subject to subject.
