Recently I've been struggling with how I perceive physics in my mind. A part of me thinks in a way that perceives forces and what not as tangible things, and the other part thinks they're not real and it's all equations used to predict how things will work.
I don't know if I sound like a brainlet but the switching in thought process is affecting my grades and the stress is getting to me.

Not sure how being able to think both ways could make you worse instead of better.

Long term it's net positive to overthink this stuff
Short term maybe just focus on crushing through exercise after exercise just to get it into your backbone, then melt and understand it thoroughly at later time

Both parts of you are correct. Forces are tangible things and the equations predict how things will work.
