Why is /sci/ and /g/ not merged into a single board?

"no"
I went to /lit/ for years before ever coming to /sci/ but they're not more intelligent than /sci/ posters in the least
Reading classic fiction and some philosophy doesn't make you a genius
Also a lot of them (probably most) can't do math or rigorous science

I think there's a time/place for both though and that you should integrate both areas in your knowledge

In the past, many great scientists/mathematicians were well-read, but this isn't the case anymore (and vice versa)

Rather an either/or approach is taken and you either study stem or humanities. Stem for sure has way more requisites

/g/ is just a shill board for nvidia/intel/amd/samsung/oppo etc, it is not general technology board but consumer electronics with strong focus on computer gaming parts and mobile phones. I do think that /g/ should be split into separate consumer electronics and programming boards, just like there is board for 3d design and graphic design

/lit/ is mostly fantasy fags, they consider the bible to be legitimate reading and their science fiction and fantasy generals almost never contain any sci fi, its all fantasy, even if scifi is mentioned its often some outdated 20 century rubbish that doesnt even qualify as sci fi these days.
People who are interested in fantasy are usually pseuds, have low iq and are afraid of science.

>/lit/ is mostly fantasy fags
No it isn't, they make fun of genre fiction all the time with a few exceptions
>they consider the bible to be legitimate reading
The King James Bible is a great work of literature whether you're Christian or not (I'm not)
>their science fiction and fantasy generals almost never contain any sci fi, its all fantasy
Can't speak for this as I never go on /sffg/ because the whole point is to keep pleb discussion contained. I assume most of the discussion is of Tolkien, which is perfectly reasonable, although if it's of GRRM then that's embarrassing.
>even if scifi is mentioned its often some outdated 20 century rubbish that doesnt even qualify as sci fi these days
Fucking lol, I have a few questions for you.
How can fiction be 'outdated'? Or is this only for scifi?
Do you seriously think the 20th century is ancient? Does this apply to all literature or just scifi? If all literature, what do you think of people reading Homer and Sophocles and Virgil, never mind Kafka and Joyce and Proust? If just scifi, are you seriously saying that Earth Abides and A Canticle for Leibowitz cannot be recommended anymore, and if so why?
How does 20th century scifi 'not even qualify as sci fi these days'? What does qualify as sci fi?
Do you read anything that isn't genre fiction?
>People who are interested in fantasy are usually pseuds, have low iq
This is true, but it's also true for people who are interested in sci fi, and it's particularly true for you.
>and are afraid of science
