Be a man, it was no accident, you did not learn Calc 2 and got the grade you deserve.

Grow from this experience. Take the course again and this time LEARN Calc 2.

Maybe you should. I never get worked up about tests and I usually do pretty good. Not sure what your standards are, but I can usually get at least solid B even without studying. Not-so-subtle bragging aside, it seems like the kind of troubles you had could be fixed by relaxing some or just better test-taking strategies.

It's alright anon. We all hit the wall at some point. The important part is moving past it, re-studying what you aren't very confident in, and learning from your mistakes. I highly recommend you revise your study methods and time management skills. It's not the end of the world, and as long as you take it seriously, you can turn it in your favor.

>I just failed my dissertation defense for my PhD

Who hates you?
PhD defenses are mainly just a fancy show of you presenting your stuff and the committee asking you several easy leading questions that allow you to expand on what you did.
Very rare to have dissertation defense failure.
You must have REALLY pissed someone off.

>It's the advisors job to ensure the student goes into it ready.

You should have talked to your entire committee and received feedback BEFORE your defense.

You are right, it could be your advisor that is despised and they are using you as a proxy.

It is NOT common or usual to have a PhD dissertation defense failure.

Talk to your advisor and see what the hell happened.

I don't know if I should feel bad for people like you or if I should go all Andrew Ryan/Ayn Rand on you and call you a peasant. I got a B in calc 2 without even studying all I did was practice problems and I could of got an A but I was lazy with homework. This semester I got an A in calc 3 and the general physics (EM) class that many people fail in. I dont even pay attention I just practice a lot. Sometimes when I don't consciously know an answer, the solution will just magically come to me because my brain will find one. Sometimes it feels like I'm the guy from limitless to be honest. Must suck for normies like you.

There are 8 questions and I need to get at least 4 right to pass (under assumption I get at least 5 points from theory). What should I focus on? 1st and 2nd differentials go without saying, Im not very confident in probability and solving just base integral could go either way depending on what kind of method needs to be used.

What are questions could there be?

I just have one question about integrals. When trying to solve limited integral with substitution I can either do it through finding primitive function and then replacing X with the limits but apparently there is a faster method where in the substitution I replace the X with limits and solve what T equals for each newly replaced X. What are the downsides to doing this? Is there something Im missing with this method?
