For the golden ratio, I like to pick two consecutive numbers from the Fibonacci sequence, 89 and 55 for example, and divide them. The larger the numbers, the more accuracy.
There's a formula to get arbitrary precision, but it involves the square root of 5, so it misses the point, introducinf another irrational number which you can't calculate exactly, and is difficult to do it by hand or mentally.

just to add to this you always write your formulas in indefinite terms without numerical values and when its time to solve for anything actual you're using a calculator or software that has the value to way more precision than matters.

tldr: memorizing pi is for autistic retards to demonstrate their inability to pay attention to anything relevant.
