Yes, some societies (particularly Asians) teach every child to be right-handed. But all that means is that ~10% of those children were forced to use their right hand while in fact possessing the left-handed preference and the corresponding brain differences.

Okay serious question here. My mother has claimed when I was a young child my father forced me to write with my left hand when I was actually right handed. Has this hindered my growth? It had always felt natural to write with my left hand and I usually use my left hand to hold objects.
