Looking for a link to a good Intro to Probability pdf. Whoever provides it will receive the link to a fascinating, unsolved scientific phenomenon. The phenomenon will be curious enough to engage even the most educated of /sci/ users, yet will be explained at a level that anyone can grasp.

If you need some motivation, I'll tell you that the link will describe a situation which contradicts your intuition for an everyday-observable physical concept.

I was actually sort of expecting her to post that.
But there's no need to be so negative about it.

>More difficult paradox

How is it more difficult than Monty Hall?

>> No.5878958

>>5878824
Quite more.

Because "Monty Hall" is now clearly exposed (paradigm, hypothesis, ...), and so everybody agrees with the solution (it took a long time before it, see wiki).
Sleeping Beauty is more difficult, because 'resolution' depends on how you understand the question (it's often the case in probabilty, see this old one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bertrand_paradox_%28probability%29 )

So there are still discussions/interpretations among scientists.

Good way to train your skills in probabilistic intuitions

Someone has been keeping at least 35 threads alive
by bumping them twice a day. Compare the post times of
