I used a ti-83 plus in school up until party way through the calcs when I switchedto the far superior 89.

Many of my friends had 84s, but we never could find a meaningful difference.

So whichever is cheaper.

Of course I have my free one on my Android phone :-p although if you ha Android you could just hey sage or maxima for free as well...
