Anon asking for help, please tell me how the fuck can you convince one of this people if said person is within your family.
I mean this person used to be more rational but age advancing and all its like the amount of inner crazy homeopathic religious thing is growing inside his head. We can actually convince him of things only to see him back to weird beliefs next week. It's like an evil weed taking control or something, you take out the last root and it's back by monday..

The real trick is not teaching them WHAT to think, but HOW to think.

Teach them the importance of criticism. You wil often her the supernatural/superstitious crowd saying "don't be so negative" and some such nonsense.

The reason is, they havenever been taught WHY it is important to be negative of new information. If it cannot stand up to criticism, it should not be believed.

Being "negative" in the sense the new-age idiots mean is synonymous with critical.

And being "negative" about things is only really a detriment if either:

1) You refuse new evidence outright. Being "negative" means quesitoning the evidence so that you can enure it's validity, not just refusing to look at it.

2) Applying it to the wrong thigns. There is a point when being hypercritical becomes detrimental. There is little point in asking someone for the evidence when they say "I spoke with person x yesterday".

3) You apply the criticism selectively. Being "negative" about only the things you disagree with, you open yourself up to confirmation bias.

What you are arguing in response is more an argument about semantics than anythign else.

The reasoning I provided was that all information should be questioned.
