You don't pay attention to science as much as you should. Fermilabs increased their confidence levels as much as possible after utilizing data from 5 billion collisions. CERN has done fewer but with higher speeds and more reliable detectors. Last year they reported a preliminary single sigma confidence, they wouldn't be making a big deal about it unless it's past 3 sigma, which leaked videos have already implied they will announce even better, 4 sigma.
