About intelligence, people view it differently than athletics. People assume that you need to be smart to do good work in a job. For some jobs, that's true, but not for 90% of the jobs that the average white person works in.

A black with a 25 MCAT score is almost guaranteed to be accepted into the majority of medical schools, whereas a white or asian student won't have much of a chance.

on average, blacks in america have IQs that are about one standard deviation below the white average. this trend and gap is maintained in literally every possible standardized test that is used in this country (or the world). this means that yes, taken at random, you are likely to pick a less intelligent black than white or asian.

what people, especially race denialists, fail to realize, is that statement is not equivalent to "all blacks are not intelligent."

The truth is affirmative action is illogical and most people see that, the only reason they don't vote against it is because they either view it as irrelevant or they are apprehensive concerning the number of racists foaming at the mouth over affirmative action. In fact, I view it much the same way, but that's not going to stop me criticising it.

It just isn't logical, the only reason people suport it is because they have strong feelings about the race issue and just want to see the government make a bold statement to prove they're on their side, unfortunately it is beginning to have a serious effect on education standards and may backfire horribly unless practices such as quotas start to fade away. Obviously if a factory that employs 200 only has 3 black employees there's something going on and affirmative action applies there, but then that sort of action is covered already by civil rights, which is totally logical.

the only valid reason i heard is that black people often go to disadvantaged schools and do not get grades reflecting their intelectual capabilities.

that being said i do not understand why these schools are not identified and the correction made based on schools rather than on skin colour.

another argument that could be made is that everyone benefits from racial diversity in a classroom but seeing how this is obviously a non scientific BS claim with no evidence to support it, I would say it is not valid either.

I can honestly say that I would never use a black doctor or lawyer.

Whether it's true or not, I would always be wondering in the back of my mind if they are there because of skill or AA, and when it comes to my health and the law, I wouldn't even want to chance it.

At lower level jobs, it helps minorities, but for more prestigious jobs, it is a major disadvantage that hurts the race more than it helps.

A friend who is in med school says no one wants to work with or partner with the black med students because everyone assumes they are less intelligent and only there because of AA.

I would consider that a major negative force for minorities.

Sure it can. Why do you retards seem to think that culture is only dependent on family? Society pressures blacks to act like thugs and poor or middle class or upper class, virtually all blacks are exposed to this. Therefore, it is unsurprising that many blacks turn out to be thugs even if they're upper class.

Shitty studies that say "hurr durr well, blacks in white families still do worse than whites so it must be that they're inherently stupider!" don't even attempt to account for this, which is exactly why they're shitty.
