>BigSnakes is a website about the discovery of a giant snake in the Peruvian Amazon in March 2009, measuring 40 miles in length x 2 miles in width. The 2010 expedition hopes to bring back more evidence of the gigantic monster snake

Seems pretty legit if you ask me. He's even got letters from scientists supporting his theory:

does he realize that giant snakes are just a metaphor for the many small water ways that make up the Amazon.

I'm sorry, but there is not a 40 mile long snake in the Peruvian Amazon.

40 M by 2 M -- he's talking METERS, not miles.
Not that he's any more credible, but when you guys wrote that, didn't you realize how stupid it was?

As I recall, the current O2 percentage, 21%, cannot support oxygen breathing life on land on that scale, not enough oxygen could make it through the lungs to saturate the blood. Theres a reason elephants are currently the largest land mammal. Whales don't need to support body weight for long periods of time. And for any of you retards who are gonna say but there were larger dinosaurs, yes there were but in ages past, the O2 percentage of the atmosphere was as high as 40%

Your mom requires an O2 percentage of 40%. Quit raining on our parade. Giant snakes are awesome.

This reminds me of an excursion I once took into the Amazon basin during grad school. We heard faint rumors from the local tribes about the existence of said giant snake. Needless to say, I was quite intrigued. It wasn't until I talked an exalted shaman that I decided to take the quest upon myself. He alluded to the existence of the snake, and gave remarkable detailed and convincing accounts of the monster. We spent a night drinking and celebrating before departing on our quest. I spent three weeks in the basin, with the shaman leading the way. We spent day and night, through torrential downpours, scorching heat, and plagues of insects waiting for the giant snake to surface. Just as I was about to give up and head back to the camp, I got a lead. The shaman ran out of his tent, horrified and with a pallid look upon his face. He was unable to speak, instead mumbling on incoherent pattern of syllables. The more I questioned him, the more he turtled up. I eventually got him to point in the direction he saw the monster though. And to my surprise, he pointed towards me. I was most baffled. I further questioned, begging him to elucidate on the matter. All he could was mumble and point in my direction. I began trying to calm him down, stroking his long, flowing hair. He started to loosen up a bit, finally beginning to string coherent phrases together. I asked him to clarify once more... in which he pointed to my groin. A smirk came across my face, a sense of smugness enveloped the shaman at this point.. I knew for certain what he was speaking of now. We spent the rest of the evening acquainting ourselves with said giant snake. It was a night I'll never forget. I truly found the giant snake of the amazon.

Holy shit, the snake sneaked up and slithered right under you? Thank God it wasn't hostile. You say you got to know the snake - are you implying it was able to communicate in a human language? What did it say? What wisdom did it have to share?

By the way, I'd have fucked the shaman, he was obviously into you.

How the fuck would we have trouble finding a snake 40 miles long and two miles wide

Thousands of people would have found it ACCIDENTALLY at this point.

And what the fuck does it breed with? Are there MORE of these? There have to be. That would not only EVEN FURTHER increase our chances of just bumping into them (to impossible to fucking hide amounts), but we also aren't finding carcasses, fossils, bones, or any sort of HUMONGOUS POOP or INCREDIBLY HUGE UNEXPLAINABLE RAVAGED LANDS.
