according to one of the greatest string theorists of all time, it’s not only possible but a direct prediction of string theory

Sure. Just ditch the gravity theory, and then you don't have to worry about gravity anymore.

Yeah, why not?
I think it's exponentially harder to go from 90-99%C than it is to go from 1-90%C.
I don't think it's unreasonable for celestial bodies to each be traveling at >50%C moving in opposite directions.

Instead of distorting space inwards, distort it outwards. Maybe some sort of brief snapback from vanishing a mass.

Maybe you could have some electromagnetic oscillation device that spins super fast and produces an EM field where the higher energy waves are traveling from "top to the bottom" (blue waves), and the lower energy field is running the opposite to create a "gravity gradient".

So the earth is just spinning around like a 2d merry-go-round? Or is that what the sun is doing while we're stationary?

Haha, gee, I never really noticed how the UN flag kind of looks like the Flat Earth symbol...

I read the brief paper. It is really just about semantics, which is why you have to cite a lone paper from 1979 for this.

>and of a massless vector field which we shall call the antigraviton
A massless vector field is just an ordinary gauge field and the repulsion of "antigravity" is just the ordinary repulsion of like charges. The only thing different is that the mass and charge of the particles are tuned so that the two forces precisely cancel each other due to supersymmetry.

In the real non-supersymmetric world, according to this same logic you could say that "antigravity" dominates gravity since the mass of electrons is not large enough to cancel the electromagnetic repulsion.
