Why did we continue to evolve rather than stay as primates. What advantage was there to evolving.

>What advantage was there to evolving.

Adapt to weather, food sources, diseases and sexual competition.

Would you rather live your comfy modern life? Or be a caveman stumbling around in the dark, living a short and brutal life?

Fine by me honestly, I'd rather we kill ourselves off than live as pathetic animals for a few more million years, at least we had the balls to give becoming something greater a try.

That picture is bad. Primates evolved just as much as we do, but the thing is they don't need to change too much when they evolve, so the differences are minor and they stay a similar species. Our population of monkeys just to happened to not need tails as we didn't use trees as much.

more muscular legs, and lighter hair and skin, leads to a lot more sex than the average caveman

Evolution is not directed at evolving into anything in particular, there is no grand plan you dufuss, we are descendants of individuals who had mutations that worked to give them an advantage over their environment. Nothing but a chance outcome do we come to even exist.

Evolution is a continuous process
This implies there are not true "transitional fossils", because all of them are part of the continuum
This also implies there is no definitive form, what you can see is the latest trial

>rather than stay as primates
Humans are still primates, brainlet. Learn taxonomy.
