Space Flight General: The Red Planet edition
The SN4 just had another static fire, DM2 has been delayed until Saturday, and SpaceX have their FAA license for suborbital flight testing.
SpaceX insurance rates for Starship testing have just increased to two hundred million dollars.
China has announced their space station plans for the next few years.

We still have another /sfg/. At least wait until that one meets the bump limit before making another one about Martian buttplugs.

No, anime threads are not relevant to the material and should be pruned by the jannies.

Stop splitting threads because you can't contain your anti-anime autism.

>> No.11730652

The idea of keeping the suits 100% outside makes sense, but it would be a good idea to have them in a little sheltered alcove with a door so they're not constantly getting UV radiation and dust erosion-you want them to last as long as possible.

The last one got to page 8 and this is a relevant continuation. The fags who chose to make an anime thread over an argument split the threads. That shows by how few bumps it had, the jannies should just prune it. Anyway back to space talk, what do you think the Ariene 6 will be able to accomplish?

well the structures are double walled so why not keep it in the first layer but not inside? Radiation and dust would ruin those suits otherwise

>> No.11730678

>>11730662
Nah,the gap is pretty small,it's easier to keep the design as it is and just print a small extension around the suits. You could also store tools in it.

Continued European space independence in the face of Starship, like what the Ariane 5 did now as Falcon 9 is flying. Once reusable rockets stop being a meme to ESA, I'd imagine them working on some kind of reusable rocket while banning Starship from carrying crucial ESA payloads.

Winged boosters (or since they're german, Flüssigkeitsgetriebegeflügelterakete) look pretty neat. Would like to see ESA give that a try again.
