America will follow the trajectory of Spain and Italy.

Discuss.

only countries with incompetent governments and poor healthcare system will be severely affected by the virus, so yeah

>> No.11493368

>>11493366
False.
It will work like this
If x amount of people in the local radius of a hospital need a ventilator and the hospital has Y amount of ventilators then X minus Y people will die

>> No.11493378

>>11493368
testing matters

now multiply X by 1 every day if you have good health care (adequate testing/screening)
and multiply X by 2 every day if you have bad health care (poor testing/screening)

also, subtract from Y the number of ventilators in use during non-outbreak conditions
If you're capitalist medical system, then that'd probably be 90% of your ventilators. After all, it's not economical to have unused ventilators sitting around "just in case" of emergencies

>> No.11493380

It will be actually worse for America. It will start race war.

I know the far-right wants this, but does Trump want this? If he keeps calling it the Chinese virus then there's gunna be violence.

If he inflames this situation enough, continues to screw up and things get really really bad, can he just declare martial law and say he can't be removed from office for national security reasons?

Who gives a shit what it's called? We're dealing with a pandemic that's gonna cost potentially millions of lives world-wide and will leave a massive recession in its wake, and you're worried about what people call it? I'm not even right-wing but the fact that THIS is what's concerning people just goes to show how absolutely fucked we are

>> No.11493451

>>11493441
people are cozy sitting at home watching movies, but in a 2 weeks or a month, when shit goes bad, people will want someone to blame. That leads to violence, and leads to mad max society.

You really want a mad max society cause shit lord in chief is actively causing collateral damage? and from such a simple thing, 1 little word. Like you said it's small and insignificant, so why the fuck do they insist on causing the collateral damage?

The country or the continent?

Well, it's the same, all have awful health care systems, except maybe Canada, Costa Rica, and Cuba, but those will be overwhelmed.

Bruh where the fuck are you getting that from? Cause as an american with a lot of guido family in italy, I've heard the joke "If you want to die in Italy, go to the doctor". The hospitas I've seen in Italy was nothing compared to the shit I've seen here in Texas.

They took a long sweet time to enforce measures and it took longer for the population to actually take them seriously.

they already know that it's not that bad. So this is fucking impressive geopolitical move. Russia and Cuba are in it aswell. Fucking commies are back baby! And they leave the capitalist world in shambles. First russia with Trump and now china with that beautiful maneuver. Remember the videos of people dying in the streets? And all that while they alledgedly only had 8000 cases? They probably have herd immunity by now in wuhan and wont even bother testing for it wherever else. The cfr must be miniscule, lower than the flu even. Reportedly the furthest china could trace it back so far was November 17th, if it takes 3 days to double the rate of infected, there were around 66 days before any measures were taken in wuhan. That are like 4.2 million peole and they aren't sure if they have missed earlier ones. Research suggests this could be around since september. Even if it's just November 1st, that's a billion people. Allt just lost in the noise because nobody tested for it

>> No.11494077

Theres more space here. Less dense. I mean it might change a lot. Maybe not.
I don’t understand don’t armies have spare ventilators?

I am sorry to inform you that it will be much worse there. And here is why:
- huge obesity, and type 2 diabetics, which is one of conditions that increase mortality
- worse health care than in europe (no not for rich), but for whole population, on average it is compared to 3rd world level. And what counts here is health care for majority of population.
- paid health care, most people will not check\report infection in fear of expenses
- huge crowded cities, like NY, covid will be on rampage there soon.
- bad quality of food, everything filled with chemical crap. Again what matters here is food quality for masses, not fact that you can buy organic food somewhere. Have you enough of it to feed everybody?
- last is stupid people, that go to crowded places because they do not believe in pandemic, same as they believe earth is flat or bilbe is proof for anything.
- will people choose being fired and have no income over being infected? A lot depends on it. If they go to work because they are forced to do so, or they can stay at home. How they pay rent, or for food?

This.
>Listening to NPR
>Some shrill white women is yelling into the mic about how Trump is racist and calling it a Chinese virus is problematic.
I mean, YELLING into the mic. Telling people they should be TERRIFIED and outraged. This is not the time to incite panic. Personally I hope these ivory tower pundits are trampled to death in a stampede for toilet paper.

Madmax won't happen unless we lose the big three, food, water, electricity. It could happen, but it won't be due to calling it "the Chinese virus"

The guy who stole the emails was shot dead in the streets of DC, and the guy who published them spent years in hiding and is now facing exactly that, espionage charges.
