Job's are getting harder
--------------------------------
Soon only economically valuable work to be done will be based on complex problem solving and management, which will require only humans in the upper echelon of IQ.
--------------------------------
The problem is not a five day work week, the problem is that the mental bandwidth required for most modern jobs that pay a livable wage is such that during a period of massive cognitive decline (age 25-35) and appropriate readjustment, the IQ floor, or rather the floor for whatever IQ is a proxy to, is steadily raising to unsustainable levels for a majority of Americans, even a majority of Americans interested in office work. Each year the number of products and processes to stay up-to-date on is outpacing the availability of efficient ongoing education, and the number of hoops to jump through to live a “normal” life is increasing. Eventually liveable wage office work will only be available to people with a masters or above as a simple function of these factors.

Couple this with women’s presence in the workplace and equality laws creating greater selective pressures on emotional intelligence and sociability, and you have an unparalleled recipe for disaster slowly but surely weaving itself into our unconscious mind and most basic job finding functions. Most of our children are so fucked. It’ll take the world a serious upset to figure out how to rebuild our systems to serve these developing needs - women and the mentally ill or socially unstable specifically - instead of just clamping every leak and draining every flood like we are today.

Universal Basic Income is the only way society can remain functional. But then again, who would want THIS society to keep functioning?

Didn't read the whole thing but I'm not sure what the fuck you're talking about, nowadays jobs are so trivial that math and physics PhDs kill themselves to avoid having to teach high school.

Management is just a stealth form of UBI. We don't need the system to change, though one might argue we need to reveal the emperor's clothes for what they really are. Either way, there's no need for a huge change like OP's suggesting. Nothing's fundamentally broken about our current path.

But when all people have become useless, self-prop systems will find no advantage in taking care of anyone. The techies themselves insist that machines will soon surpass humans in intelligence. When that happens, people will be superfluous and natural selection will favor systems that eliminate them-if not abruptly, then in a series of stages so that the risk of rebellion will be minimized.

Even though the technological world-system still needs large numbers of people for the present, there are now more superfluous humans than there have been in the past because technology has replaced people in many jobs and is making inroads even into occupations formerly thought to require human intelligence. Consequently, under the pressure of economic competition, the world's dominant self-prop systems are already allowing a certain degree of callousness to creep into their treatment of superfluous individuals. In the United States and Europe, pensions and other benefits for retired, disabled, unemployed, and other unproductive persons are being substantially reduced; at least in the U. S., poverty is increasing; and these facts may well indicate the general trend of the future, though there will doubtless be ups and downs.

>>11280863
It's important to understand that in order to make people superfluous, machines will not have to surpass them in general intelligence but only in certain specialized kinds of intelligence. For example, the machines will not have to create or understand art, music, or literature, they will not need the ability to carry on an intelligent, non-technical conversation (the "Turing test"), they will not have to exercise tact or understand human nature, because these skills will have no application if humans are to be eliminated anyway. To make humans superfluous, the machines will only need to outperform them in making the technical decisions that have to be made for the purpose of promoting the short-term survival and propagation of the dominant self-prop systems. So, even without going as far as the techies themselves do in assuming intelligence on the part of future machines, we still have to conclude that humans will become obsolete.

UBI is another relatively radical (considering it comes from within the establishment itself) attempt to increase capitalism's lifespan. That's the long and the short of it.

You get so close to making a point, but fall for cliches about machines. Forget AI, you and I won't live to see sentient machines. What we will see is vast swathes of mankind rendered obsolete by the owners of the non-sentient machines.

you're discrediting yourself by using that image of the famous recluse from harvard who was so reclusive and private that he wanted everyone on the planet to read his manifesto and was killing to commit multiple murders to get his way. nobody with a brain believes that all of his murdering wasn't a selfish publicity seeking crime wave, or that he was really trying to "save humanity" rather than just being a desperate faggot.
little teddy k. couldn't compete with the other elites at harvard and he got mega butthurt over it and devoted the rest of his life to a hissy fit, thats they guy's real story.

technological society will continue to organize itself into a mechanized intelligence at an geometric rate. as long human desires and fetishism (consumption) continue to drive the economy you will be given different types of trinkets and crumbs, while a monstrous machine continues to construct itself around you.

eventually there will be nothing human left, and you will either be part of that machine or dead

advertising agencies are already using learning systems to build a direct connection between their messaging and your limbic system, forming a feedback loop between their stimuli and your responses. Cameras on your devices, or even mounted onto billboards and signs in public can judge the precociousness reactions that you make milliseconds after seeing a targeted ad.

The gap between your mind and the outside world isn't a hard barrier but more like a vague fuzzy frontier, a frontier that will slowly recede as technology gets better at penetrating that barrier, or is simply directly implanted into your brain tissue. We are falling faster and faster, screaming into hell and there is absolutely no escape.

UBI is pure reaction in someways and terrifyingly progressive in others
removing humans from the production part of the economy, leaves only the consumer part
and you better believe that's next

UBI is better used as a form of negative tax that allows a bare subsistance life but does not penalise getting a job.

You know what I hated the most about your post, in all the apparent extraordinary nature of claims you have made, you did not provide one source to back up a single claim in the string of claims you have in this arguement -

Instead what you did was weave together whatever you believe is a plausible narrative to project your theroetical fancy that (unironically once again on this website) civilization and society will end, deteriorate, become doomed, suffer the wrath of a thousand daggers in the back, etc.

This is whats bad about people these days, its this entirely empty Pessimism about existence and reality, which is either the product of propaganda, or idiots. At least read some Evola bro

>> No.11282970

>>11282937
not OP but why do people have this empty pessimism, It has to come from somewhere. It's more prevalent in the current generation than any other. I don't think that means we are all going to die but things are definitely changing fast and not going to stay the same. What way they will change in I cannot tell you.

No. Either society will collapse, billions will die and then reproduction can become eugenic once again and perhaps society does not repeat the same mistakes again. But if that doesn't happen, and if the singularity hits, most of humanity will simply become superfluous and be phased out, with only the most influence and powerful remaining. My IQ is 138, I got it tested at the end of last year. I currently have a /comfy/ "out the back" supply job where I basically do stock take and pack online orders for the courier.
Soon I'll have my Masters in Mathematics and I'll probably get one of those awesome hacking jobs working for the glows or I'll do something in reverse engineering.
If I were a brainlet with less than 2 standard deviations from normaldom I would get the fuck outta STEM immediately and get a trade or do unskilled work like cleaning toilets, luckily I was blessed with intelligence and I thank all of the Roman gods for it, you too Janvs.
