I need to figure something out quickly, but I'm a mathlet. Is there a linear transformation which takes any 2D vector to the third or any arbitrary quadrant?

No, because if L would map x there, then L would map -x into the opposing one:

[math] L(-x) = -L(x) [/math]

No, because if T would map x to a particular quadrant, then T would map -x into the opposing quadrant:

[math] T(−x)=−T(x) [/math]
