what do you think this super massive rocket is? 99% of its body is submerged under sea before launch, and is carrying plutonium. i don’t think i’ve ever heard or read about any rocket launching like this. is this a variant of the nuclear pulse rocket engine? maybe it is but it doesn’t look like one though.

The idea was sea launch avoided having to make a huge crawler, pad and deluge system. It was one of the many "big dumb booster" projects of the time, giant boosters putting up hundreds of tons fairly cheap.
