In a sense it does, but inverse square law absolutely applies, so while the range may be large, the strength will drop off quickly until it's infinitessimal. Eventually some other field will swallow that one up and you won't be able to detect it anymore. But mathematically it'll still exist.

imagine if you have a loop of wire with current thru it, theres magnetic field going thru the loop. singular electrons have angular momentum acting kind of like a loopy current, generating magnetic field called spin in QM. if a substance is polarized evenly, such as magnetite, its electrons all fuel one bigger magnetic field and make the object a magnet

why loopy current makes magnetism is just bc moving electrons at all makes magnetic field.. look up maxwells equations and ask sci if you need help w the calculus

at this point no one really knows. i can offer this: a lot of equations for electromagnetism are the same as mass/gravity equations just with a charge factor multiplied in. mass is a disturbance or fold in the G field, charge is a disturbance or fold in the E field. why either of these fields exist, why theyre separate... thats a question physicists are currently stumped on.
