So are set theorists basically the court jesters of the mathematical world? Why are they even allowed to exist?

Certain aspects of set theory are just deceptively more difficult than it may intuitively seem like it should be.

said no serious mathematician post-20th century, ever.

It's organize at sets but received at category. Then introduction is hindsight and all retrospect is immune to blank, but disease is cardinal to a tongue and that's register, on pundit, the leave of absence of another so that paganism may resume. It's a mocking tone for niggawatt humor to hold lights not candles. Like waiting around the corner to eat instead of just eating for them to find you.

This a call for claim. Ireland, I think. Might be a bond brigade. They need Justus, the sentiment, of glory not action the revealed so they can sister mary a saint. It's Organized religion but it is defunct as corpse. That's not mafia, it's old women. Saying come get them, blah blah, blah.

>[math]2^{\aleph_0} = \aleph_1[/math] is just inherently difficult using set theory
Sure. And computing planetary trajectories is inherently difficult using epicycles

If modern set theory can solve anything at all, it should be able to solve these very simple, basic questions. As it stands, the field concentrates on (a) applying forcing to show more and more of set theory's failures and limitations, and (b) inward-focused navel-gazing not-even-wrong topics such as large cardinals and forcing axioms.

They think they can base all mathematics on sets. That on its own is somewhat reasonable, but then they slip in their own retarded axiom system and rules of inference and everything goes to shit from there.

Set theorists are the final boss of mathematics. The reason the continuum hypothesis is so difficult is that its answer has to do with the fundamental nature of the universe

Who told you they are?
Pure set theory is basically dead. There are extremely few practitioners nowadays, and even fewer if you discount dusty old emeriti
