If you want to change I would say you need to look at neuroplasticity and eliminating bad habits. Meditation works wonders for that. Experiencing new things in general aswell. A shot of discipline.
Personally I thought up an idea where you deprive yourself of everything "negative" that gives you happiness hormones. For example, drugs (legal too), video games, fast food. Things like that. You are flooding yourself with happiness hormones and with that reenforcing your brain that this action you are taking is valuable. In turn your brain will give you happiness hormones with the mere anticipation and thought that you will take that action again. That closes the cycle and you are stuck with a bad habit, which results in a worse and more unproductive lifestyle. Instead, you should fully and completely deprive yourself entirely of anything unproductive that gives you happiness hormones and do things like reading and sports instead. The things that would give you only little dopamine, endorphines, whatever compared to porn, scrolling through 4chan or junk food will now be your primary source of happiness hormones, making it easier for neural pathways of less favorable habits to disperse, while the positive ones are reenforced.

Funnily enough, I randomly found someone else on 4chan posting about this. So I'm not saying i invented this method. I just thought of it on my own before I heard it from somewhere else. In the end you will still need discipline, but most valuable things are never just handed to you.

You need to be "lucky" enough to be destroyed first. Happy and satisfied people don't push themselves to perfection of a vision. Highly neurotic people who get destroyed by life, they are those who find the resolve to climb out and keep climbing.

>how do I become rich and famous
step 1: be born to a daddy in South Australia with a fucking diamond mine
step 2: have enough money to travel to Canada and America for funsies
step 3: get lucky by joining a dot-com startup
step 4: become an angel investor and steal others people ideas/companies
step 5: put literally everything you have into marketing and Reddit memes
step 6: profit

It's not even about him, just an example. I don't have a goal of getting as rich, I just want to do myself justice and fulfill my potential. Even if it is insignificant, I don't want to waste it.

Well I've improved my diet and lifestyle lately, and I'd say don't try to make sweeping changes to your life in one go, because it won't work. You have to make small changes, and when they become habit, introduce more small changes. And know your limits as well, working 100 hours a week is a stupid meme pushed by capitalists and rich people to make them employees work harder, no-one works 100 hours a week, well if they're doing a good job anyway.

Thread's got it down. Pick up healthy habits, drop bad ones. Engage with society in some way. Don't waste your energy on a dead-end job (only temporarily to get ahead) or on people who drag you down. Don't give up when life serves you shit - push through it.

How does one destroy themselves and become neurotic to the point of success? Do you need to hire a hitman on your family or what?

I'm sure there are a lot of people who have been destroyed and simply lived a miserable life until they died. That's not the determining factor to make you successful.

Life does it to you. Perhaps you run into abject poverty by ill fortune, or a psychopath tries to ruin your life or career. Perhaps you are struck by illness.

Doing something like that to yourself would be counterintuitive. And some things you are unable to do to yourself, for example you will never feel the pain of being born a wicked way you can't change and having to live against it. If you have the will to create misery for yourself in order to reach a state of mind conductive to fulfillment, maybe that will would be better spent on building yourself in the right direction.

Without reaching a rock bottom you won't get that hate for everything which conduces a need to trump everything to prove yourself to yourself, but by chasing emotional experiences such as through art and philosophy you can create an aesthetic framework for yourself that you will really want to live up to.

Maybe what is really needed is some type of insanity and some extreme long lasting emotional event. If you would destroy yourself you have the insanity, and that willpower you could use to keep exposing yourself to that which gives you deep emotion. Then you might find your purpose. To break it down to some slightly general approach, at least.

People like Elon Musk have an INTJ personality type. They are shy and quiet, but they have a great vision of the future and they are always setting goals to meet that vision. They are also prepared to lead and take control if the situation calls for it.

working 100 hours a week is not good for your mental and physical health or your relationships, you really want that?
the biggest way to change is to change who you associate/hang out with.
also do some spiritual critical thinking and take any classical psychedelics. if you think drugs are bad mkay just go see whos been munching the acid (that has admitted to it anyway)
