True for the 'beta' mindset, as the only real trait of 'an alpha' is not being actively concerned with how others view them.

What other purpose do grades serve but this exact mechanism of demeaning or shaming those who are wrong or don't know something? Never been a shortage of that in the institution, regardless of grading system or simply pass/fail marks. Sounds like you're implying normally only men participate in the social climbing/demotion, which anyone who has observed women socialize would know to be false.
It's as simple as this, women innately enjoy being subjugated, men innately do not, hence the height of inverted gender expression we see so commonly today, how else can men cope with a state that quite literally thwarts positive masculinity? Women suffer no less due to the unrealistic expectation that they conform to the corporate-injected expectations of being equally capable of traditionally male work.
It's pure manipulation on every level of our being.
