I'm surprised I saw what was wrong with that carbon/oxygen setup... I haven't taken Chem since High School. I wish I wasn't in such a "hurry" to finish my degree, otherwise I would take some basic 200-level chem just to be well rounded. As a math major, people even question why I took basic physics, even though it's required.

There are Binary operators such as "+", "-" etc..

Are there any ternary or higher operators which can not be represented as a composition of binary operators?

Does anyone have that photo of a topology textbook page with a drawing of a weird hairy dog from /sci/ humor threads?? I've been trying to find it for the last few weeks, but I haven't managed.

Sorry. My focus has been more towards algebra and topology, so I don't know much about analysis or optimization.

The undergrad optimization class uses "the mathematics of nonlinear programming" as a textbook. Not sure if that helps.

>open thermodynamics textbook

>learning language
>meh progress but it's at least steady

I get good uni results but that's basically the summary of my summer. I haven't learned shit apart from progress in the language.

The entire /sci/ sticky must have been a waste of time. I bet no one has used any of the resources for more than 10 days in a row. I don't believe anyone here, you'd have to be a literal autist to self study most of this stuff. Why would you learn some trick to solve a second order differential equation and try to memorise it when you could look it up when the need arises?

I keep beating myself up for not turning myself in to super-intelligent-man in my spare time. Yet I also know that it's unlikely that any of this shit could ever come in useful. Could I ever learn a second language or programming language enough that it can help get me jobs? If I hate learning programming, wouldn't I hate the job it gets me?

This entire summer I haven't even been able to appreciate my fun time as well. I just start reading a novel and instantly feel guilty because it'll never help me get a job or add to my cv.
