Why do normies scoff at flat earthers?

I think the earth is obviously a sphere but a lot of the common arguments we are taught are incorrect

E.g objects disappearing over the horizon is caused by earth curvature,

The normie understanding of the spherical earth is weak

Also pop scientists like brian cox are going about debating flat earthers in the wrong way they also take the approach of scoffing rather than having real discussion. I think there's a lot of flat earthers who are intelligent but misguided. There's no real intellectual satisfying explanation of spherical earth for normal people

What is it spinning with respect to? It won't generate any power if the entire generator is turning with the Earth. You need something extraterrestrial to hold it still so the earth can spin with respect to that non-moving reference frame.

As a qualifier, I do know you're just being facetious. I just haven't found counterarguments to these. It would be interesting to have models of different geometries of the Earth that also match our observations, but you don't get there without asking questions.
