pretty much directly said that hydrogen is a shit 1st stage propellant. All things being equal and accounting for isp differences hydrogen would still need a tank TWICE the size of an RP-1 1st stage.

And this is exactly why hydromeme is always saddled with SRBs. Because making a tank big enough isn't happening.

What I still don't understand is that in spite of this multiple 1st stages used the damn thing. Are NASA rocket designers just fucking dumb? Or maybe this was a clever ploy to maximize the JOBS / TIME ratio
