True. Honestly I think LES' are a placebo and the ability to escape a RUDing booster is cancelled out by the tanks of hypergols surrounding you (in case of Dragon).

Imagine a booster RUD, LES triggering, and Dragon explodes in a flaming fury. LES creates totally new failure modes.

And if depressurization happens in space, you're completely fucked as no abort would save you
