Existance is a wave. The symmetry of existence comes from the corresponding peaks and troughs that of that wave.

I'll simply tell my kids that without death you can't have life.

You can not have love without hate, sadness without happiness, something without nothing.

Why would you expect to have life without death? Life without death isn't really living. We all like to think we'd want to be immortal, but that's because we are clingy, with an irrational fear of death.

The same answer to the question why is there sadness and suffering?

Because there is happiness and joy.

You wont even know your dead, how can you be afraid of it? Your simply afraid of the party going on while your not in the room.
