I'm older now so it's over anyway, but I seemed to get on OK with physics and maths (up to 3rd year undergrad course at a good uni), but I'm very bad at programming. I used sql server at my old job but I guess I wasn't required to do any further. Just basically queries and minor input sprocs. And looking at JavaScript stuff.

In my degree (again this is a while ago), up to say 1st year graduate math seemed intuitive to me whereas coding never did. Now I've never used math or physics to actually solve real world problems so there is that. But programming is hard for me and when I search on plebbit it's often the other way around (good at code, bad at math). I've seen comments like an aptitude for programming coincides more with an aptitude for learning natural languages. Do you think that could be part of the problem?

Some time ago I finished with a undergrad degree at physics so not particularly advanced. But apart from sql at my old job I'm terrible at programming. I didn't try it much at work but after seeking out coding courses online it's not as intuitive. I've seen some comments suggesting learning to code is more like learning a language than leaning maths?

I am tasked with doing a social research paper, and I have never done this type of shit, Thought I'd ask you since someone here might have some experience wit this shit. Not really supposed to say what the topic is, so I will dance around it with examples that are similar.

Let us say the DV of my research is satisfaction with your boss. There is plenty of research that states how well you get paid influences your overall job satisfaction, but not how satisfied you are with your boss in particular. Would I be justified in posing that since it has been shown to affect other aspects of satisfaction in the past, I believe it is worth examining if it also influences boss satisfaction?

If yes, should I take the most prominent things I know influence satisfaction with your boss from past research and have them as control variables? I am really new to all this shit, but I have to soldier through this one BS social science assignment.

/sqt/ - stupid questions thread or QTDDTOT
Ask your brainlet questions.

For book recommendations, check the sticky and/or the /sci/ wiki

For learning how to use the inboard latex, check the sticky. You can also test your latex before you post by clicking the "TEX" button in your reply box.

If your latex isn't working, it's because your adblocker is blocking it.

If you ask any question, remember that there is almost no universal notation:
>what constitutes a BAD question
If p divides |G|, show that there exists an element of order p.
>what constitutes a GOOD question
Suppose p is a prime that divides the order of a finite group G. Show that there exists an element of order p.
