Yes, yes, and threshing machine have caused 1/4 of the agricultural sector to be jobless and caused the farmers to riots

However, here's the fact:
During the medieval era there were only around a few hundred types of trade
Industrial Revolution brought over 2000 jobs
Today, online job searches alone opens up as much as 40000 careers

Automation pave way for the establishment of transportation and exploration that unified countless trade routes and opened up new trades
Likewise, the rise of AI shall open up the world for space exploration.

Forget everything that the idiots and /pol/tards above said
If something is an unfavorable trait, natural selection would prune it

Gays and asexuals
Blue eyes, red hair,
Skin color
Fingernail, facial hair, pubic hair, butt hair
All have valid explanation. Could be beneficial, could be neutral, but never detrimental

>Your language affects the way you think; if your language lacks words for particular concepts, you can't think in terms of those concepts without great effort.
That's actually been throughly disproved.

What next /sci/, debate on how to best balance the humors?

It's a lot more than just density, for instance, ethanol and water are completly miscible, hence why vodka is a drink. h-bonding, to the electronegative oxygens help keep the too substances miscible, and is a stronger force than the force of gravity trying to seperate the 2 by just density,

All this is assuming a career in the energy industry (Particularly E&P or service companies):
Petroleum Engineering
Geological Engineering
Geology
Geophysics

I'm all for lowering emissions, being more careful about the use of resources, and recycling those resources that are finite.

But can we please stop pretending that recycling paper products is anything but a cash grab? You aren't saving trees, landfill space is not and never was a concern, and it costs just as much energy to recycle as making it new.

that i'm not a better person for knowing more or studying particular things.

thinking you're the ultimate being and believing you matter more because you're more intelligent is possibly the most retarded thing that someone could think.

which is why the majority of people who use words like "general public" or think their IQ truly matters are fucking retards.

too bad most of the internet suffers from this.

Have any of you ever noticed the dramatic difference in average eyesight between the intelligent portion of the population and the hurrrrrr portion?

Is it just me or are highly intelligent people far more likely to have glasses or contacts?
I've been at my university for 3 years and it's finally just hit me that many of the smartest kids in my classes have eye correction, not to mention the professors who also exhibit this.

So what do you say /sci/ is there any correlation at all between intelligence and eyesight or is it just dumb luck that intelligent people usually have glasses?

For the record I have glasses. I'm confident in my intelligence, but I'm no genius.

Have /sci/entists come up with a reason for naturally talented people? For example, I was watching a nightly news one time and they did a story about this kid who could write symphonies, play the cello like virtuoso, and conduct like he had been through the fucking Eastman School, but he was only like 8 or 10 years old. I'm another example. For some reason, I'm just a natural born fighter. I think the easiest way to explain it is sort of like CQC in the MGS games. My body just reacts naturally to attack and defense even though I have never had a formal martial arts class up until now. I'm taking Krav Maga and instead of using the techniques the instructor teaches I'm doing my own thing and I've been able to hold my own in sparing against the others. Another example are the ridiculous child prodigies that get calculus at the age of fucking 7 and go on to make theories in their teens.

So /sci/, what the hell is the deal with this natural talent stuff? Any ideas?

Discuss

the conversion of nuclear decay or radiation directly into electrical energy with little to no efficiency losses, and no need for heat transfer or steam.

will we ever see it?

oh, hell exists. but it's only for those really sick sons of bitches who cannot be redeemed. most people just go to purgatory and have to complete some journey or task to realize their faults. Humans are neat like that.
pretty much everyone here will spend some decent time in purgatory. but it's not all bad, think of it like a big adventure, a trial of conscience
