Yes it is true that most educated people in the West are still living in some kind of pre-Kantian worldview. They don't realize that strict adherence to critical rationality and rigorous examination of one's presuppositions leads not to scientific materialism and empiricism, but to transcendental idealism.

yes to your question. it has profound implications, Kant made some very interesting advances regarding "what can we know" using pure logic.

There's nothing in simulation theory which moves us forward from where Schopenhauer's corrected and clarified Kantianism left us 200 years ago.

I haven't seen anything in any of the various simulation theories which would constitute an advanced from where Schopenhauer's corrected Kantianism left us almost 200 years ago.
