False. Robert Goddard figured that out on his own. He made a mistake at first, but it is expected since he was among the first pioneers of modern rocketry.

If you want to show off European spaceflight accomplishments, then mention their developments into regenerative cooling, or early closed cycle engines, or dominance of the GSO market. Don't make up facts, it just makes you look stupid.

Thanks! I will. What I need to do next is figure out what size of fittings I need for valves, pressure regulators, pressure sensors, etc. The tube that comes off the nos tank is a -6AN so I'm going to try to find stuff for that. The hard part (apart from needing more money) is to have a test stand for this. Which I have no plans for right now, but I know it's going to be expensive.

Hello /sfg/, I'm designing my own liquid propellant engine, and I need some suggestions on the minimum number of sensing equipment needed for a engine test stand. I don't have tons of money to do this with, so I can't afford lots of $200+ transmitters. This engine will not be a flight article, it'll only be a proof-of-concept, so I don't need high fidelity data nor exact performance data. What I need is a way to diagnose the engine if it's not operating properly.

Pic related is closer to what we actually use today. It used gasoline and LOX. Nazis used alcohol.

Oh and we are still using computer technology from the 1950s, jet engine technology from the 1940s, electric motor technology from the 1900s, and internal combustion engine technology from the 1860s.
