The immigrants that end up in academia are a totally different breed and arrive via different ways.

If you meet a pakistani girl in a german lab, she is probably there thanks to a scholarship from the university. Or she was recruited from another lab after padding her cv with some legit achievements.
Pergaps, her parents sent her there to study 10yrs ago and she just stayed.
Talk to her and shell tell you how horrible ppl bavk at her place were and that she always wanted to get away.

If you support immigration unconditionally, you are not importing ppl that youd prefer over the local rednecks. You are importing the ppl she ran away from.

Too bad so many ppl in the academia do not draw the line between the good natured immigrants, who want to integrate and feel it is their duty to adaprlt to the local norms, and the brainlet entitled assholes, who'd prefer violence as their main occupation and feel it is their right to dictate their norms to the people who had been here long b4 they arrived.
The first kind is always welcome, but is an abysmally tiny proportion to hoards of mediocrities, freeloaders and straight up criminals.
