Not really, aspects of it are shit but It is getting better. Falcon heavy is now staging the lunar gateway which means it'll actually happen on time. Also since perseverance landed the science for making liquid oxegen on mars is being fleshed out and we will figure out the composition of of the surface. The program might actually work.

Artemis is great if they use starship. Fly SLS twice and then act like you want to give opportunity to private companies and kill it. Gateway is necessary for international cooperation and a moonbase with a moon-mars long-term goal is decent. Take the billions they save and put it into making tech like printing, orbital construction and venus rovers. Starship can give us so many science and engineering gains while we still let europe Russia and japan put some people on the moon.

I actually want to see gateway because it is the only way we will see multiple countries making moon bases.

Am i the only one here actually excited for Artemis? It seems like spacex is forcing NASA to go faster which means a lunar presence by NASA and a martian presence by SpaceX within our lifetime.

What's so dumb about the gateway again?

I know it doesn't do anything and you could just go straight to the moon. But it occurred to me that we have no experience with surface bases. So you'd have to land, build, and supply a surface base before you could use it. Where would astronauts live while work is in progress? Why figure out how to resupply a surface base without getting dust on shit when you can just dock like the ISS?
