It's visible to the naked eye, no need to grab an ultrawide and point at random locations in the sky.
Grab your 50 mm and mount it to your APS-C camera, mount it on a tripod, manualy focus it on a bright star, dial in f/2 with 5 second exposure and ISO 6400 .
You should get something like pic related, shot on a 58 mm f/2 at ISO 6400 and 5 seconds.
(If your camera can't do ISO 6400, do 3200 and 10 seconds or 1600 at 20 seconds)
