Adey was another prominent figure. He was doing early brain research, but got into it as a contractor at UCLA's brain research institute, analyzing EEG data for the Pandora Project. It's also probably he was one of the people commissioned for MKULTRA subproject 119.

See the Woods Hole meeting document, to the National Academy of Sciences for some of what Adey thought about USAF at that time.

effects, but rather physics, and principles of physics do not protect the brains and central nervous systems of the strongest among us, our firefighters.
11. The failure to protect our populations based on biological effects of exposure to RF
(microwave) radiation is an inherent shortcoming of the current FCC policy with respect
to cell tower emissions and cell phone absorption. The adverse biological impact of these
exposures are grossly underestimated. The FCC does not have independent science that
can justify the massive exposure to RF radiation that currently exists from cell towers and

cell phones. The story told by our small pilot study of firefighters in California should be
a warning with respect to cell phone absorption levels.
12. The FCC is being lobbied by the telecommunications industry to harmonize US
standards with those of Europe, as dictated by ICNIRP. To do so would be a grave
mistake. The only change that should be implemented with respect to cell phones is a
reduction in allowable absorption of RF radiation. We are now dealing with 4G which is
untested, and it does appear to have a thermal effect. Many countries keeping brain
tumor statistics, especially those countries taking into account the two brain tumors
associated with RF radiation exposure, gliomas and acoustic neuromas, are showing clear
increases in these two tumors. The increases in brain tumors does appear correlated with
the increased use of cell phones.
13. Based on the neurological abnormalities Dr. Heuser and I found in the firefighters,
including hyper-excitability of the neurons which can results in cell death and consequent
neuro-degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s Disease and ALS, I urge
the FCC to reflect on the gravity of

Standards:
Overview of ELF and RF exposure safety standards in various countries. The USSR had the first standard of 10uW/cm2 for occupational exposure during a workday, 1958. Poland and Czechoslovakia followed with similar standards. the US later followed with a thermal-based guideline of 10mW/cm2, time averaged over 6 minutes. A difference of at least 1000x. This received a lot of attention. Later symposiums like the one held in Warsaw sponsored by WHO, Poland, and the US, bridged some of the eastern and western observations. Soviet researchers described the syndrome they called "microwave sickness", other aspects were discussed.

Under the WHO a program including replication of the studies used as a basis for the Soviet standard was undertaken, using modern methods. The RNCNIRP provided its report in 2008, corroborating previous results.

The interesting thing is the inner ear nerve related deafness was still able to hear it, but the one with the mastoidectomy couldn't. It may relate with that people perceive the sound as coming from behind them as well.

One model of how RF is transduced by the body involves a change of the structure of water in the body, which particularly effects H+ domains around the negatively charged tips of proteins. This can actually vibrates those proteins, some one of which are capable of solitonic transmission. The idea is that this allows the field to couple with the cell interior, a mechanism of communication that may or may not be used naturally anyway. Either way, the role of those structures might involve that. There are several mechanisms, but a primary site of transduction would seem to be the mastoid region.

Hard to figure. Suppose it could be thermal expansion of those air pockets, but the power density is quite low in many cases. Might be acting on some part of the bones themselves.
