Is it actually possible to be 2smart to do well in school? I'm starting to believe it the more classes I take.

The way I grasp concepts is like a computer and everything has to be perfectly logically sound for me to believe anything and truly understand what is happening.

The problem is that most professors and books use language to express concepts and
professors usually talk casually making it hard to interpret what they really mean about a topic. They will even use plain wrong language to explain something or use vague words that can be interpreted many different ways. The absolute worst though is when they print out an equation or something concrete wrong and I can't tell whether I'm too retarded to logically follow them or if they are just stupid and typed out the wrong thing.

At the end of the day I can't even figure out the heart of the concept let alone the nuances and applications of the theory. Am I just retarded or are modern professors mostly a joke that can't teach properly?

Done 1 and a half years of mechanical engineering and I'm still looking for all the smart people I was promised. Still seems like a 50/50 split between brainlets and mildly intelligent people despite all the dropouts from first year.
