"Big bang" is misleading.

"Atom" comes from the Greek word for "indivisibile," so as soon as we discovered the "subatomic" world, we created a word which meant "The divisions of the indivisible." which is oxymoronic.

Then there's the fact that half these niggas are so egotistical they name their theories after themselves rather than what the theory is supposed to explain, which would be much more helpful.

He jumped the gun, misinterpreted your question, and assumed you were a troll.

Consciousness is a phenomenon which results from electrochemical signals in the brain. Various sub-functions (functions within the function of consciousness) have been proven to effect the overall function itself. Look up the story of phineas gage.

The existence of souls is unverified, so it seems that our self awareness occurs because of our biology, rather than in spite of it, so it's safe to say that when our biology decays, so does our self awareness.

But take note, that consciousness, while dependent upon the continuous biological structures within your body (your brain), are not dependent upon a continuous MOLECULAR STRUCTURE, because you do not die with many of the same atoms in your body that you were born with.

Continuity of consciousness and matter are something scientists are having trouble wrapping their heads around. Consciousness behaves like a stream of water in the sense that there is no real "stream." Rather, "stream" is just what we collectively label all the water that happens to pass through a physical point.

it takes a long time to wrap your head around all the concepts involved, and the full understanding of consciousness as a phenomenon cannot be said to belong to any one individual field. The wise scientist knows this, the unwise scientists pretends one scientific profession is better than the other.
