Any indication that electronics were affected by the CME yesterday? I forgot to hide my hard drives in their cages and the basement before going to sleep.

I have a Chem final on Friday and a Bio one the next day.

Whats the most efficient way for me to study? Study for both a bit each day, or study for one the first half of the week and then the other the second half of the week?

If you had the opportunity to revive one scientist/mathematician to be his personal student and future successor, who would you choose; and why?

>in masters year of engineering degree
>this term, instead of 4 courses, I have 2 courses and a research paper course that's worth 2 regular courses
>first paper is a 15 page research paper that's due in about 16 days (and I received the assignment about 12 days ago)

>put no effort in except for an hour on monday last week where I tried to understand what the fuck my supervisor's recommended papers meant
>got extremely frustrated and stopped
>research topic is 'worth' 300 hours
>the first paper is worth 30 % of the grade for it, so is 'worth' 90 hours
>plan to work for more than 90 hours on the paper before the deadline, even if it means going crazy

On the plus side, I've never worked anywhere near as much on university work as those credits / hours guidelines suggest and I'm sure no one else does. I'm sure this will mark the time where I actually start putting tonnes of effort in to work.

On the downside, I get EXTREMELY frustrated (like my head exploding of pure autism) when I hit a brick wall with my work. How the fuck do you cope with having to try and understand research papers or apply the stuff in them to problems?

I just imagine myself hitting some wall, either with the material in a paper, or some random maths / physics concepts etc.

Any tips for doing a research project? I have to do a 15 page paper on a topic that's new to me. I do chemical engineering?
