>What fuel / oxidizer are you using?
Nos monoprop. What I'm going to test for (along with just making an engine that works) is if Nos could be made to self-sustain decomposing if the inside of the engine gets hot enough. That way a heated catalyst wouldn't be needed beyond just starting the engine.

>Are you going with pressure feed?
Yes, being fed from a ~900-1,000 psi Nos bottle. The chamber should be about 189 psi.

Nos Thruster anon here. Got my electric starter kit from Estes. Might do a test later to see how they work outside of a solid motor.

What I really like about using these is that my engine can be fully welded now instead of having parts that must thread together for the silver-based ignition system. Assuming the welds are good, this would make the engine much stronger and therefore safer. The hard part now is to find a friend of a friend who can weld for me.

Nothing since this isn't for flight. I'm doing a proof-of-concept of a rocket engine (mainly so I can learn some of the nuances of engine design through actual work since this will be the first rocket engine I've ever made). The engine is made out of thick steel pipes and thick steel pipe fittings.
