But don't microwave reactions proceed through free radical mechanisms? What if you end up ingesting radicals? People have looked into products formed during conventional heating (I.e. maillard reactions) and that's how we know not to eat overcooked food. Shouldn't we be taking similar iniatives with the microwave?

Because sci thinks that biology is like looking at a bird and memorizing shit about that one particular bird.

However biology is a great subject to study, because unlike physics, you can actually get a job and have a variety of career paths. A person with a biology degree has various industries to go into while a person with a physics degree is stuck in software or trying to convince someone that he's just as good as an engineer.

In addition if you actually understand biology you'll soon realize you can't just memorize everything. There's a point where learning comes naturally. Biology can be rigorous at times.

In addition they can't do comp bio/ bio math because it requires someone actually completing their undergrad in mathematics. Not just passing calc one and physics one with a C and then telling sci you're the smartest person ever.

I'm pretty ok with it. I've known since I was about 12 I'm pretty mediocre at everything. I know that I'll get an MS and work until I'm 50.

People usually find success at an older age. Good for him.

I care a shitload about what Euclid, Aristotle, Newton, Tesla, Einstein, Galileo, and da vinci did, as does the scientific community as a whole. Mankind as a whole owes their luxury today to these people even if they dont know or understand it.

Contributing to scientific discovery is the most noble way to get your name into history

>get a bs in bio
>forced to go through Calc 3 + linear + ODE + four programming classes + two applied bio math classes
>work in a lab
>hardest math I have to do is just add to 10 or 11 depending on the reaction
>never used it again outside of making games in my free time

Look in University you should probably have to take up to Algebra II or whatever it's called. You will not be able to function in life without it. Just like in university you should have to take some intro writing class for two semesters.

I knew you were gonna post that.

>The answer comes from the fact that the IQ score here is estimated from the students’ SAT score. This isn’t an altogether unreasonable approach: Several studies have shown a strong correlation between SAT scores and IQ scores. But if we break down the SAT score by Verbal and Quantitative, we see why this IQ estimation is potentially misleading.

Here is the GRE scored by major as of 2011:

https://www.ets.org/s/gre/pdf/gre_guide_table4.pdf

Physicists score barely better in "Verbal Reasoning" and "Analytical Writing", but are considerably inferior in "Quantitative Reasoning"; 11.5% to 7.8% in the 170 range, and 30.4% to 25.9%, in 165.

Not only do you lack girls, you are also dumber. You physicists are a joke, can't even solve the 3 body problem for 150 years.

Say if we had a magical screening device, that could detect who had a contagious disease or virus and STD, and these people where separated very different, with no chance of interacting with the rest of humanity. How much would that benefit humanity health wise. How much would we save on medical costs? (ignoring the cost of screening and segregating in the first place)

How many people would it separate? How many people are carrying no serious contagious illnesses right now?
